Feed stray dogs by recycling?! Now there’s a win-win!
Imagine a device that will feed a stray dog every time you recycle a bottle. Does it sound too good to be true? Well, then, be prepared to be astonished! Meet “Pugedon,” a clever recycling bin that provides food and water to stray dogs!!! You can watch the video at the bottom of the page.
Pugedon is a social responsibility project by Yucesan J.S.C., a railway and coach company that has been around for 30 years in Arifiye/Sakarya-Turkey.
This device dispenses food for dogs every time you deposit a plastic bottle.
This street recycles bin kibble dispensers even have a slot where you can pour your unfinished water before you recycle the bottles. This water is then used to quench a stray dog’s thirst.
The food and water are dispensed into two bowls on another side of the recycle bin.
The prototypes have been tested in Istanbul and are now available for sale worldwide.
They are also working on a device to feed stray cats. Here is a peek at the next-generation Pugedon.
All the devices are powered by the sun, and the recycled bottles cover the cost of the food.
What an ingenious and compassionate device; let’s hope they catch on!!!
